no pro,
but get the basic shape of what your making, even if it looks like crap, inflate it a lot, and smooth it, then start sculpiting in detail.

well, ill put in more depth,
make a basic sculpture
then sculpt out the hands and stuff
then add the details of clothes and stuff
then put in all the final details.

but then again it depends on which program you use.
