Village vs Village Battles
This is how I think that big Village battles could work-
I think that everyonce and a while we need to have a headline that states something like. (this is an example) - ["Invasion on the Hidden Leaf Village" This Saturday at 8pm.] And what this means is that come that Saturday, There will be an attack on the Leaf Village, and the objective would be kill the Hokage. Now this would work as anyone who joins at 8pm would have to go to some sort of meeting place. If your a leaf ninja you go to your village and prepare for battle, as for all the other ninja's not from Leaf meet somewhere outside and discuss battle tactics, then a half hour later is when the battle begins. This is when all the ninja that are participating fight to the death. And there can be from genin to Jounin in battle until either the attackers are fended off or the Hokage dies!
But! I think that when this happens it should be something like how GWar's is played. To where the battle happens on the Leaf, but there is no actual change in the real game. It would be like a Player vs Player Arena. A Player vs Player arena , for those of you who don't know, is when you fight against other players without there being a direct effect on the others playing the game. (in other words, its like they go to a different room on the server and fight it out there) This is also how you have clan wars, one clan can challenge another, and they go off to there own place and fight and there is no affect on anyone else playing the game. And after your done you go back to your own village and continue to play with your character. And because you particpated you gain experience, and there is no way you lose anything or even die and would have to start all over. Participating in this sort of battle would be more of a bonus to those who participated. You gain exp/stats and the longer you survived and the more ninja you defeated the more exp/stats you get!

This has been pretty much discussed, but you developed it more . However, remember that there will be alliances...so for example..if Konoha is allied with Kiri...and Suna declares a war against Konoha..then Kiri can send groups of ninjas to help Konoha...how will we know the winners? the more ninjas your Village kills..the more points it gets. Plus if Suna had an ally, they could help them to raid Konoha...
As a reward, if Suna raids Konoha successfully, then it gets a reward (money + special Item given by GM). If an allied Village helped a Village to win..then the reward money will be split.
Since we want the wars to be equaled, then we should put a limit of 150 ninjas vs 150 ninjas other than 150 ninjas vs 600 online ninjas.

the best kind of "Guild war" that i've played in a game was in Kal Online
your guilds had upto 64 members, there was also alliances = Maximum 8 guilds in one alliance.
There was one castle in the game, one alliance defending it, and the leader of the main alliance guild lead the alliance. the defending alliance was spawned inside the castle , ALL the attackers outside it, it would take about 4minutes to run to the center of the castle , where a pretty big pyramide was placed, with on top of it the defenders flag!
The attackers had to reach the flag, destroy it and put their flag on for atleast 5 minutes(only an alliance leader can set flag up!), to become the defenders and spawn inside castle, the was every saturday for 2 hours, if the flag was destroyed, the war would go on for another 10minutes each time, so it could take for like 3hours sometimes.
The names of the defenders became red to attackers and vice versa, and names of ur allies blue and u could not attack allies.
Why is this SO AWESOME? becuz every guild can be powerfull... but to have a good strategic leader who can lead up to 512 players and them listening to him was hard.
There was a alliance who owned the castle for about 4months in a row! they had the Guildleaders on top of the pyramide with high lvl archers hittin ppl who are coming up(on crits, archers had chance to one hit almost anyone on high lvls) and aLOT of mages using area attacks as soon attackers reached the pyramide, further more, middle level knights on lower spots of pyramide, and highest level knights + couple healers on outside gates of castle who could take on atleast 10man alone(with a healer) to decrease attackers attack powers and make em unorganized becuz they would come to kill u and run outa line :d
anyways, this game had to best pvp in my gaming experience ever. only reason that i dont play it is becuz they game was all about grindin besides the pvp, and u had hardcore grinders xD
we could take some good idea's out of it to use

Think, if you're a small village attacking another small village, do you want bigger villages to know?
So yeah, intel comes into it, you might also try to trick enemy spies into thinking they uncovered a secret attack that isn't going to happen, so you can ambush their ninja and defeat their village that way.
And you might want to send information to allied villages, so choose your own ninja wisely because they might have the information stolen by enemy ninja. And that will affect how the player/npc ninjas are set out/distributed, so it becomes strategic
Also if you're intercepted when delivering information...you might be held captive or something to stop you from telling your own village that the information was stolen. We've got to work that out somehow, it wouldn't be nice to disable text chat for example.

also... what is grindin? im a hardcore gamer too but ive never heard of that term in my whole life.\
you dont have to disable chat. could just carry a note (with info in it) and only the leader of the alliance can read it (just an idea)

Or the person you captured could pick up a phone and call there buddies who are from the same village. So that really wouldn't work out right.
And yeah Everyone can know about an invasion, because it would be planned, and this way an admin can control it. This would be helpfull because not everyone will be on at the same time. And this way people could plan things in there live's around this so more people could be there. And This helps, because if your a really small village with only 100 shinobi and you only have like 20 people online at the time, and someone declares an invasion, then the village would be wiped out. Thats what im trying to avoid with my system I'm trying to think of. This way if there is to be an invasion, at least people can know about it and hopefully plan time around it to make it so theres more of a fair fight. Also, if you create this small village and it gets destroyed, will it be wiped off the map? wont that take a lot of "stress" on the server to keep adding and removing structures, and clan types and what not. I think that when the game is created, there will be only so many villages. And when it comes time for an invasion, you enter a PvP arena area where you fight. Win or lose, the villages do not change, and for people who are in the nonPvP area can still play there role and do whatever they want. I think that over time with patches and updates we can add more small villages.

@conradxu , Grinding means you have to kill monsters 24/7, and always in the same way = you have a "best" combo skill X + Skill A + Hit + Skill A and monster is dead, do this on 20k monsters to level up and killin a monster would take like 30-40secs + u need to rest after killin each 10 for like 1minute... that is grinding :p
(actualy, needing a lot of exp needed to level up, and eventualy having to do same thing thousands of times till it gets so boring b4 u levelup, but u need to levelup to be stronger)
playing about 18h/day for 2 months approximatly, u reech about level 65 (ive seen ppl do that, playin 3 ppl together on same account tho) and the top100 players are like level 69-73, note that in this game, each time u level up, the exp needed to levelup again is ALOT more at higher lvls, EXP level 1-65 = 67 means to get to level 67-68, u need as much exp as u needed to go from 1 to 65 ... although u do kill faster and mobs give more exp, but normal ppl couldn't do it xD unless rly for the fun of it
and then there are chinese hardcore player, u shouldn't call urself hardcore gamer in front of em, they'dd laugh at u ! wahaha :p

Whats a chinese hardcore gamer? Someone who gets payed to play? Which the term for someone who gets payed to play is a professional. So do you mean the chinese Pro gamers?

lol, note that, 512 in only ONE alliance, there are 4-5 other alliances, with same amount of ppl each attacking!
and the networking of game was awesome, cuz it didnt lag at all back then, dno about new since population is probably doubled

So then will these Village battles e more of spur of the moment or more organized? I think that in the long run, doing something more organized would be better.
Dont get me worng, I like the thought of pateintly waitng then springing a trap on an unprepaired village, but It wouldn't be cool to see a whole entire village colapse, because there were hundreeds of invaders and only 20 people online at the time for the defenders.
Will we see the results of an invasion? like if things are destroyed or ruined, will the actual game see them? i still think that battle villages should be taken on like a seperate area when the fighting occurs.

Total apocalypse Even tho it might be uber hard on the servers yet total free rein in order to protect the village is pretty sweet. Even Planing the opposing attack. Pure war opposing clans from the same village teaming up to save what is important to them.

Yeah that is sweet, but it would suck to know that while I was at work, my village got its butt kicked in a war when I wasn't there to help protect it. I mean people have lives away form there computers too thought (although i work on one so thats why im posting so much nonsense). And if the game allows for villages to be destroyed and created, then I could come home to my village being wiped out, then what would I do? Start all over? join another village? that would suck.
I dont know what the verdict on some of these things are, and we probably wont know until after the beta is released down the road and we can get a feel for what will work and wont wont, but maybe Village battles and invasions are part of the Kages job, which we have a thread on

And maybe the Kage's talk it over privately and tell eachother that they want to have a war on a set up date and time determined by them.

naaah man. villages will be permanent. BUT their treasury isnt. so if an invade becomes successful, then they get to steal about 30% of the village's currency.

Good, I wouldnt want to know my place got wiped out just because I wasn't home.
Now will there be anyway to keep this fair? like will it be 100vs100? or will it be who ever is there, is there? And if that is, what about NPC gaurds? if we use them wouldnt they respawn after a while anyways, since there NPC's? that would be hard because you would always have NPC's coming at you while your invading. However no player would want to play gaurd at all. what would be the point of sitting in a tower, and the fact that you couldn't force people to do that. If you demand someone to do something they dont want then they'll quit, and if you say that they should receive a penelty for it, that could cause them to quit also.
