Upon Death
was thinking what would occur upon death in the game. I was thinking about something that, i feel, would suit naruto more than just 'click here to respawn in town.'
I was thinking that, when HP goes down to 0, the character is not dead, just injured badly. Then, a 'flashback' or cutscene of something in the past from your clan (very brief), and then you respawn in the same place where you 'died'. If an aggresive NPC is near who will attack you on sight, i think, if it's possible to script, that you should respawn close to the place where you 'died' but out of range of the NPC(s), and you respawn with low hp. I think that this suits naruto.

Death is something that I was very nervous to encounter in Naruto, seeing as what happens when someone dies? Their character is actually dead lol. It's not like a DB/Z game where if they die... you could just teleport them to snake way and HFIL. Yet, I did think of something that could work for a Naruto game. Here it is.
When you die, you don't DIE, but you get knocked out. There are a few things that could revive you fast, a medical ninja for instance in your team could heal you. If you are alone by any chance, or you all get your asses knocked out lol, you could be given a 2 - 3 minute rest period where you can wake up and still be hurt a bit. If you are REALLY badly hurt, you could be transfered to the nearest allied village. The only problem I see with coming to after 2 - 3 minutes is that people might try to camp you... any ideas for that?!?

that ideas way better than mine. the camping, i feel, could be easily solved with a 30sec 'invunrability' time, during which the player cannot be targeted but cannot attack, giving them enough time (i hope) to run away..

Your 'I hope' could easily be countered by a 60 second 'invulnerability' time. That's a good idea ^^;. Perhaps the invention of the 'wound' bar will come, and determine how much you can be 'wounded' before you have to be teleported back to the nearest allied village.

yes, which would promote teamwork, as the whole squad must stop to allow someone to rest, or risk that person being teleported. I hope that upon 'death' the characters will not loose EXP or items though? because that's just annoying

I think that's quite unfair really, so I don't think that will be happening lol. I don't think there should really be much of a punishment for dying, other than the time limit and maybe being teleported backwards a bit lol.

Lets just hope that this idea is agreed upon, I like it quite the bit. Of course it will be elaborated on more than this.

That's a great idea. I like the way you don't die straight away, and it works because in the anime people do actually die, so this would give you a chance to retreat.

Heres my idea on the subject.
Alright solo - Your fighting something and your hp falls to 0. When this hapens you fall to the ground uncouncious and your screen goes black except your UI. Now you can instantly choose to completely blackout or you can wait 1 minute.
During that time period your team-mates will be able to resisatate you if you have any, but you wont be able chat or see whats going on. If your resisated, you'll be given a low amount of hp and weakened state for a short period of time.
Now if your alone, or all your team-mates get womped, you'll respawn after alitle loading into the hospital. Convienently, you would respawn in front of some desk but I would think it would be cool to respawn into a hospital bed.
Now wether you spawn at the desk or in a bed you will have to a fee for some medic squad that brought you back to the hospital. Now you could either
1. have them at full health after the medic squad fee,
2.or you could respawn in a weakened state that you could recover with some type of potions,
3.or maybe the option of laying in a hospital bed for afew minutes
4. and lastly, paying a ninja medic to heal you within 15 seconds instead of using a potion if allowed to right away or laying in a bed for 3minutes, possibly 5, but would cost nothing extra.
Just my thoughts for now .
