class as newcomer tutorial
Well I just thought of a evil idea . A ninja academy tutorial. Havent perfected the idea but this is what i got atm.
1 First you start off with a 24 hour time system.
2. Next you have the 3d model of the ninja academy.
3. You go to the npc teacher and set up a time to come in on the hour.
4. Every hour theirs a class held for like 30mins or so
5. During that time students that are seated listen to information on how the game works and how to perform jutsu's etc.
Basically while its going on you can socialize with your virtual class-mates and stuff while your being taught the basics.
6. At the end each person will be called down for a quick performance test.
(Will have to do some type of UI window where you have to use a set of buttons to pull off the jutsu. Could be graded on how fast you get it, how accurately it was done etc.
Somehow when its all done maybe it will automically choose and give you squads or you could just do it yourself, maybe some extra rewards for getting a good grade or something.
For programming you would have to be able to notice a person sitting down in the desk so that the npc knows if theirs someone their to call down for the performance test or maybe he'll call on random students and if your not paying attention and can't say the answer to the question that was asked, you get a low grade and possibly have to retake the class.
Just something to build up upon for a fun tutorial that lets you mingle with newcomers like yourself and get to see who you think would make a good squad member if you get to choose.

Wow... this is an amazing idea. Perhaps you are spawned just outside of the school and you have to go in, and then talk to your teacher and he'll tell you when the next lecture is (we'll hold a lecture every hour). This is when you'll choose your name (he'll ask your name) and then he'll give you a number (which will show you your seat) and then you'll be seated. This would be entertaining and educational.

Hey I like that idea =). For the hourly thing, i was thinking you just pick a time where its good for you to have your virtual class and everyday after you finish the basics class your moved to another class and you have to show up on the time you choose, so you would have to choose a time where real life wont conflict with your virtual schooling .

That's why I said the once and hour thing. It would really just make it very optional and you'd know there was a lecture coming up.

begining
all awsome ideas how about after u "graduate from the academy and learn wat u can then u can choose ur village. has anyone ever played nine dragons where theres a tutorial and then u pic wat clan u want ya it should be like that just u pic what village u want , what elements u want, and wat clan u want to be part of or if u wish to start ur own clan which u can only start a clan by phisicaly paying us (the company like $5) and also before u start the class ur teacher will be like "so what name do u go by " and u would type in wat u would like ur char to be called and that would permanently be ur chars name 4 the game. this would be a clever way to minimize what has to be put on the char customisation place.
