Jutsu Development Idea
I think it would be extremely cool to allow players to develop their own jutsu, as well as name them, later in the game. Perhaps each character would be allowed only one 'signature' jutsu, and only be able to develop it after they reach jounin rank. This could be hard to pull off, but would be a very unique feature that would add great depth to the game. A few things would need to be in place to keep this from being overpowered:
1) A difficult quest/training would have to be completed to determine and master your elemental affinity.
2) You would have to already have jutsu trained whose effect you wanted to use in your new jutsu.
3) A point system should be implemented for this to cap the technique so it is not overpowered.
For example, you are jounin rank and you have focused on ninjutsu with a number of fire element jutsu. You know Goukyaku no jutsu (Uchiha giant fireball jutsu (sp?)) and the multiple fire dart jutsu sasuke does...(phoenix flame or somethign?). You also happen to know kage bunshin.
So you complete your quest and choose fire elemental affinity and train a 'element mastery' skill up to a certain point which allows you to create your own jutsu using that elmental affinity. You have a point cap of, say, 10000. Incorporating a large, single fireball (goukyaku no jutsu) effect costs 1,000 points. Adding a second effect from pheonix flame costs 3,000 points. (each subsequent effect's cost should exponentially increase.) Then, as a final touch, you add the kage bunshin effect, costing 6,000 points. The resulting technique could be uniquely named by you, and the effect, for example, would be as such:
You release multiple giant fireballs which are then shadow replicated and launched at the target. (multiple from phoenix flame, large fireballs instead of fire darts from goukyaku, and shadow replication from kage bunshin) The chakra cost could be determined by adding up the chakra cost of each technique used in the creation multiplied by two.
I know that this could be a daunting task but imagine how awesome it would be to recognize an enemy ninja solely on his developed jutsu. Am I stretching too far? What do you guys think?
