Re: Hacking,Banning
Just some 2 cents flying your way why not both bot gm's(Anbu) and a couple real gm's (Maybe Kage's or what have you) that way the picked 3 arent over whelmed...? and if things get really rough the real gm can replace the bot????? IDK just thought i would though that out there

Yea Maybe Gm's will be the Kage's in the beggining of the creation of the Game (they will have good stats but not too overpowering), And maybe later by the time players gets strong and know's how to be able to be Kage, Player will take the Gm's place

Yea we could have a lot of ANBU type NPCs for controlling players that decide to fight in the village (not in a proper dojo/arena match) and similar things. And the ANBU could help on the special war type missions by joining player teams which would be awesome.
Re: Hacking,Banning
Yeah it's a good idea. As for Deep... I don't really like the fact of players being GMs... that pushes the point of us hand picking them and some players can get really powerhungry if they don't get what they want. I know I've seen it happen MANY of times.

Re: Hacking,Banning
Well I am GM in Fiesta & I RARELY use my GM player, i use the one i created myself & not the one someone created. I know ALOT of people are "powerhungry" (specially in Fiesta ), but Gm are there to Keep Order In the Game, not to kill everybody...And plus, The game's team has to watch the GM, how they do there jobs ( I almost got fired In Fiesta Once ). If they see that a GM is just keeping killing everybody they can kick him out or something (or a warning)

Re: Hacking,Banning
So a log that records what powers the GMs have used at what time and what day would be very useful in this part.

banning
I have an idea , i think that it would be interesting if the hacker is caught we should post posters of the player all over the world , and who ever kills the player gets a reward, and if the player get caught and killed like say 3 time the third time they get killed their account will be banned lol!
yea, just somthin to think about

Re: Hacking,Banning
So here's a question. Say we did this, what happens at the start.. he's a hacker, what if he is using speed hacks? He could own the players asses like nothing... I think we are better off just automatically banning them.

Hmm....lets say...There's a Hacker, or a Spammer that keeps annoying people in-game. We need some personal in-game that can help immediately. My guesss is that we need GM, PLUS, Gameguard too

My thoughts exactly. I think it's the best way to defend against this type of situation.

Re: Hacking,Banning
Ok...I figured out that I could post this here without getting fired @_@: Here's what I posted in our forum: www.outspark.com/fiesta
"Hello Fiesta Players,
I've notice alot players asking me, "How do you become a GM?" Well I
figure I make a post to link people to the answer. First of all GM's
are paid employees of Outspark. How do you get a job at video game
company? Apply. Most companys won't hire you unless your at least 18
years of age. Also, the most common way people become GM's is by first
working as game testers. What is a GM's job? Kinda varies with companys
and also the type of game it is. For Fiesta, GM's deal with in-game
issues (problem solving)and event planning (being creative).
Short Answer
1. Get your foot in the door by getting hired at a gaming company.
2. Get alot of experience (perhaps game testing).
3. Apply for a GM job.
Hope this helps"...
Also, here's a list about what an average GM is suposed to do and what is required to become one
Responsibilities and Expected Results:
- Maintain and update database of thousands of users on a daily basis
- Account action and account troubleshooting
- Develop and maintain customer/player relations in and outside the game
- Maintain an in-game administrative presence and enforce game policies and rules of conduct
- Be an informative resource for the company’s user base
- Monitor networking and game functionality with the use of in-house tools
- Collect, investigate, and process various data regarding in-game issues, exploits and bugs
- Help brainstorm, create, plan and execute community events and future content for a game
- Evaluate games for potential acquisition
- Work closely with Project Managers and team members to ensure milestones are met in a timely manner
Requirements:
- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or higher
- Must be able to commute to headquarters on a daily basis
- Fluent in the English Language (written and oral)
- Knowledge of today’s gaming industry
- Proficient computer skills (troubleshooting, MS Office products, basic networking)
- Strong passion for games and be able to master a game in a short amount of time
- Strong skills, self-directed, detail oriented, motivated, supportive and team spirited.
Some of these are different, depending on what company you work for."

Re: Hacking,Banning
Kk guys, d/w about hackers ... i know most of em :p
The game will be secure enough to avoid kids hacking, and real hackers will be stoped by us, u dont need to worry about that kind of things
and about "GM":
some of you guys think about GMs as they are in most of teh private servers, well it isn't like that ... only Admins have those abilities
and most likely, u wont see any admins in game much.
GM's are usualy there to help people out and as said, do limited amount of things...
but again, too soon for this
go get some good modellers for us for now, we need more!

Re: Hacking,Banning
Probably not. The GMs will be hand picked by us and there won't be very many as already stated. This is the very least of our worries as of right now though.
