Weapon Throw
I think that you should like if your a low level (genin) only throw weapon you can use is Kunai, and that you have to buy Kunais for your own money. I think that you should us like "Lock Target" when throwing so it aint going to be so hard to hit and aim, but you should make that the throw weapon isnt following its target so it will be pretty easy to dodge, and you should make that has like 0,5 sec cooldown (so you cant use it in 0,5 sec after use) so you cant spam it.

Re: Weapon Throw
I think the idea of only throwing kunai would be incredibly annoying. I mean, realistically, every genin in the story is able to throw multiple types of weapons. Of course you would have to pay for new ones out of your own pocket, but I don't see why you could only throw kunai.
As for the auto target thing, I'm not so sure about that. I think that would make it way too easy. The way I see it, you could have a small dot at the center of your screen when you are fighting, so when you throw a kunai you aim at that spot. That way, you have to aim, and it doesn't just aim for you.

Re: Weapon Throw
How about, you have to buy each new weapon type to be able to use it, and then (a lot less, but still not free) for every 1000 or so kunai / shuriken / etc. after that?
I've been thinking about the auto-aiming issue for a while. I say, we should have it so you can auto aim but it's not as accurate as manual aiming (nowhere near accurate enough when you're chasing a fast enemy), but the default auto aim accuracy (not affected by buffs and so on) is determined from your base stats.
Maybe manual aiming (because it's a must-have) can be as simple as dragging the mouse to aim while holding a certain key.

Re: Weapon Throw
I agree with Ryath, I don't think we should make an auto-aim. Makes it too easy.. I think if the enemy is aware of your presence than MAYBE, but if he isn't, it should be manual aiming.

Re: Weapon Throw
Na, i think there should be an auto aim thing like sorlaize said but the prob with it is that it will take longer see realisticaly i naruto u can aim , but i think we should call it aim not auto aim just aim u can aim but it takes a while to get a fix on ur target this will be its down side and the downside of not aiming is that it is not as accurate. now we should not make aiming 100% acurate but it should be better than not aiming

Quite the dilemma. I don't mind how it goes though.

no auto aim -_-
umm i think we should go with the little dot in the middle of the screen idea cuz if u auto aim then ull hit ur opponent alot more often but then auto aiming would take like 0 skill. i think we should just put a dot on the screen so u can actualy aim and get better at it.

Re: Weapon Throw
so how would you aim the red dot? with the mouse? you move the mouse to aim the red dot? then if you have move the mouse to click on icons to enter hand seals (this is getting back to the hand seals thread) then youll be looking down or way left right up or wherever! so how would you want to aim the kunai with a red dot on the screen if you can't aim it? would you do it so you have ot hold another button down to take your kunai in hand then release the button after you throw it? that could work and be difficult, and to practice it would be hard and you would gain speed on the throw along with throwing multiple to show kunai improvement. Its just you have to consider how doing one move in the game effects the others!

Re: Weapon Throw
I still think.. that if your in the battle phase... your aim should be auto, just not so accurate. If you are not in the battle phase, it should be manual aim. That is my opinion though. Manual would be more accurate.

I agree with this for more than one reason! I think in battle it should be auto, and you have to consider that when you start you wont throw that fast, plus if you dodge it the kunai isn't going to track you down like a heat seeking missle.
Also! and this is the first time I have heard it mentioned, "Battle phase" should there be a couple different kinds of "modes" (for this post modes will be replaced for the word pahse)! will there be battle mode, and normal mode? if we do something like this we can make the game more reasonable to use your keyboard to play, but it would also make the game harder.

Re: Weapon Throw
I have just thought of something that can pose a problem to the Auto-lock method.
Clone Jutsu -
So if you use a shadow clone jutsu, and your enemy goes to throw the kunai, will it still be locked on the real player and not a clone? the computer/a.i. will already know which one is the real player. So if you use autolock, will it always stay on the real player. The only way I seeing that you can avoid this, is if you call out a shadow clone, and you shift the the left or right and a clone takes your place, however it would have to look as if you were adding a clone to the other spot, which means you would have to have the clone jutsu allow you to have the decision to switch spots.
hmmm. I see why now that a manual would be better however if this game is made like a WoW style and you can press an icon to create a move, then you wouldnt be able to point your mouse like it was a first person shooter. unless if you do it as, holding down the right mouse button brings up the kunai throw mode ( or weapon throw mode, and your are taken to a camera view where you see only the top of your characters head and a cross hair appears into the middle of the screen and you left click to throw a kunai.

There won't be an auto-lock, unless you have the Sharingan which would be able to notice any switching of real / clone characters. If you were aiming at the original character then depending on what they have set up, you might not be targeting the real character
I said somewhere you'll be able to change settings for techniques, for custom character behaviour. So with a clone technique you would be able to decide roughly where clones are placed, how many (but that's limited by skill and current chakra), and whether to switch places with a clone. Ofcourse the Sharingan would notice this, so plan carefully
Re: Weapon Throw
a byakuugan would also notice.
so, will it be more of a push a button and a kunai is thrown at the oppenent, how ever it is thrown at where they were last standing, so if they move left or right to dodge it will miss, if they move backwards or forwards it will hit. I think that is a great idea, it is launched at its last location. and eventually you can have it as the speed of the throw will increase and the kunai moves faster.
