Well, it looks like ads are an option...it could work. It's just that they can be annoying and might put players off. But yeah, it would pay well. Also there's the issue of what we can legally do considering the Havok physics (it mentions we can't sell the game for more than $10) we are using and other components like networking, etc...

What if we have the game download for free, but have the low montly payment or ingame shop? An ingame real currency shop wont be actually selling the game and the monthly cost would be iffy at best maybe.

i realy would like to help u guys make this game a reality.....the draw bak is first of all i turn 14 sept 27 of this year and secondly i have no programing skillz (heck i can barely use the comp) but it would be realy cool to help u guys if u need me just ask. but the upside is i have some awsome ideas for this game and i realy need to get them out of my head before i 4get them lol .

You should do some concept art kaostheory ^^;. As for this thread, I don't think it's a good idea to go monthly payments, first off... we don't know if we can lol, and second off... it could really turn people off. I don't think the ads will turn people off really, because there will only be ads on the loading screen and not during game play. If you can't stomach an ad every day or so... then you have some problems.

Besides with the trafic pulled in from this game charging 2$ per flash ad during loading screen, i bet companies will be asking for. Or even have bid wars for he ad spots if greedyness i needed for example upgrade to the server, upgrades (Expantions , Development), etc. and like Tsengu says they really don't have to pop up all the time It would be nice so there is money to expand...

Ok.... 1º: On the forum, do a part where we can deposit money, so to that, Sorlaize, need give him acount( i think it works like this), and who want help us out, give money! And we say, who help, can win big prizes! There, the another who can't help with money, can help with ideias or something! like, win a t-shirt or something like that! xD
2º: When game is on beta phase or something, we need put a "premium" "gold" stage.... like to who want pay, to obtain cool stuff are rare things!! The game must be not paid, because if is paid, alot of people will not like! so, you're asking, so that people can help how? That people will spell the words to another, and, also can pay with phone! That's right, phone!! Alot of browse games have that, so why not MMO?? Also Metin2 have that, and is froom a company is starting do a MMO games, they did browse! If they can put that option, we can to right??

Exactly right. We need a way of obtaining money, that does not charge for playing the game. Giving prizes to donators might work, or something along those lines. Nice ideas

The majority of people won't donate and those that do will only probably donate like a dollar. Sure this helps a bit, but still it ain't enough to pay for a server. I never donate so I am in that majority. Most people don't, they will be too into the game and if we don't find a way and we are spending alot of money out of our own pockets we will have to stop and then the server will go down.. and this is where the complaining will begin. Should of at least tried to donate a little. Happened to a friend of a friend of mine.

I think you're being a bit negative. Major continuous server costs aren't an issue yet, and by the time they are (when people can play the full game), we'll probably have enough donations.

Eumm.....Donating to become GM....I personally don't like this idea. A 10 years old kid can ask his parents to pay and becomes GM, GM will be people we trust and that helped us.

Flash doesn't look like a good option. But i dug up something the other day about WPF/Silverlight inside an application. If we could do that, we'd be onto a winner. Ad companies are now starting to use Silverlight in place of Flash because it can support fast streaming of video content (also animation and even 3d graphics), but the video support is key because it's wmv and a lot better performance-wise than Flash.

i think that maybe you should have a members server and f2p server the f2p server should be limited it would still be awesome but just take a few things out to make people want to be a member and well you could use the sites where you can pay by text message and ti takes your credit or home phone and it is put onto your phone bill i think i dont like the idea of limiting f2p but i cant see a way round it lol ok i didnt relise somebody had already thought of the phone idea sorry i do not take credit for the pay by phone idea

We'll have to see about, we dont want to limit the game for free players at all and hopefully run on some donations to keep servers up when the game is done, but we'll have to see, cuz like ... if u got 1000 players and they could each pay even 50cent/month , that would make it about 500$ a month which is enough for ONE heavy server... we'll see ^^

I dont like the Idea of paying at all :/ Alot underaged people may not pay for it from their parents. But with a Cash Shop with real life money it will also suck. Because then who pays the most money will be the best in game :/
